How Villages patients are cared for
Start on video, not on the road. For patients in Florida your first visit with Dr. Carroll can be a private video consultation, and a good deal can be handled that way — sometimes all of it. He listens to your history first, then tells you whether anything actually requires you in the room. Only then is a drive to Maitland on the table.
Medicare participating, assignment accepted — office visits and diagnostic testing are billed to Medicare where covered, and benefits are verified before your visit.
- When a trip is needed, it’s for the hands-on part — the diagnostic study, when Dr. Carroll recommends it, and any supervised first treatment are done in person, usually consolidated so one trip accomplishes as much as possible.
- Follow-up happens from your living room. Telemedicine visits handle reviews, adjustments, and refill management between office visits.
- Support doesn’t stop at the door. Patients resuming self-injection after a break get refresher guidance without driving down — call the office and we’ll walk it through.
Worth the drive, structured so you rarely make it
Care here usually starts with a diagnostic work-up, though not every treatment calls for one — Dr. Carroll will tell you whether yours does before you drive anywhere. Men make the trip to Maitland for that evaluation, then keep the ongoing relationship largely by phone and video. That’s the arrangement our Villages patients have used for years.

- It’s a real drive — plan on an hour or more depending on where you are in The Villages. Most patients need only occasional trips once care is established.
